Satin silk - also called Charmeuse silk - is made with a satin weave which is soft and supple and drapes beautifully.  The front side of the fabric has a lustrous and reflective satin finish, the back has a duller, rougher finish. It is most often used for soft flowing dresses and tops as well lingerie and nightwear.

Silk is a natural fibre and variations and irregularities in the weave are characteristics of the fabric and are desirable, that is the nature of 100% silk fabric.
